St. Patty's Day Green Smoothie

There's no better way to ring in St. Patty's Day than with a green smoothie! 

(And a pint of Guinness with a slice of Shepard's Pie, if we're being totally honest).

This recipe just so happens to also be husband- and kid-approved. I've tested it on my whole family, even those who are not into vegetables, and they love it!


In fact, one of my hubby's friends came over a few weeks ago and I made him this smoothie and told him it was a "Peanut Butter Banana" smoothie. I said the green color came from protein powder (which it does) and he devoured it without a second thought. When I told him there was spinach in it, he was in shock! So, yeah...sometimes you have to fib a little to get those picky eaters to get their greens ;)

Give this recipe a try over the weekend, and I promise it will convert just about anyone.


St. Patty's Day Green Smoothie Recipe
Makes 1 serving

  • 1 cup almond milk or water
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seed protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter (almond butter is great too)
  • 1/2-1 scoop Sun Warrior Protein Powder
  • 1/2 banana
  • Handful or two of baby spinach
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon

Blend all ingredients and enjoy!
